Global Connections

We are a church with representatives from many nations, and we consider it important to reach out to those in need around the globe. These are projects and people we support as a whole church. Many individuals in the church also have a heart for other countries and projects. Some of our overseas work and relationships are in nations too sensitive to include here.

Albania

Edi and Artina Morava lead a church in Tirana, and are mentors to many other Albanian church leaders. Artina is also leader of World Vision Albania. New Life have been able to send a team to teach, pray and prophesy at a conference run by Edi and Artina.

Please pray that their small church to be increasingly visible, for faith-filled Christians to be added to their team, for finances to enable them to rent a larger building for use on Sundays and during the week. Please also pray for all Christians in Albania to be filled with the Spirit and witness powerfully wherever they go.

Brazil

The Eagle Project works to break the destructive cycle of crime and drug abuse among adolescents in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Through a programme of workshops in youth prisons, professional help and family support, the Eagle Project aims to encourage positive choices and reduce the likelihood of re-offending.

We have a close relationship with Cally Magalhaes, who founded and runs The Eagle Project.

Please pray that Cally would continue to build team, and that many young people who receive Jesus would stay free from crime, totally devoted to their Saviour.

Cambodia

Sam and Abi Little are planting a church in Siem Reap, the second-largest city in Cambodia. They aim to create a community of both Cambodian and ex-pat believers who can encourage each other to live as Christians in a predominantly Buddhist nation. Alongside this they have started a social action project that provides family support for rural communities in their province; where access to similar services can be limited.

NLC has a long relationship with the Littles – Abi is the eldest daughter of Tony Villiers, a previous leader of NLC.

Please pray for Sam, Abi and their two daughters to be able to connect with neighbours, colleagues and the poor, that they will find many different ways to share the gospel, for others to hear God’s call and join them in Siem Reap, and that many will be saved and added to their church.

Democratic Republic of the Congo

We partner with Edward and Maltilde Lokoto in their church planting and community initiatives to create jobs and produce food in the DRC, like their pig-rearing scheme. This project now employs three permanent staff and five seasonal staff and the pigs are thriving, with 22 piglets born between July and September 2022.

Please pray that God would bless Edward and Mathilde with faithful co-workers, that they would have the money to finish their church building and pay off the loan for the land, and that they would be protected as they serve God.

Germany

Nathan and Rada Adams lead Gateway Church in Munich, and are working to build a community both for believers and those who don't yet know God. The church is a part of the Catalyst network and NLC has sent a number of teams there to support them in their work.

Please pray that God would build his church through their small group, that the spiritual atmosphere in the city would change to one of hunger for God’s truth, and that God will make clear his plans for the future of their church and city to Nathan and Rada, and that they will see God's kingdom come in many families and communities around them.

Greece

Jonathan and Sarah Crowhurst moved to Athens in 2020 to reach out to refugees from many nations, in particular the Middle East. They have established a church there and are praying to see many saved in the refugee camps to become witnesses within their own communities.

Please pray for Jonathan, Sarah and their two children to be able to communicate fluently in the languages they need in order to engage with locals, refugees, and people in their church. In addition, pray for their practical needs, such as housing and schooling for the children, to be sorted quickly, so that they can focus on God’s primary call for their lives.

North Macedonia

We have built a strong friendship with Sasha and Marija Vuletic, who lead Trinitas Church, a growing fellowship in Skopje. Small teams from New Life have visited the church on a number of occasions and Sasha has spent time in the UK with us. He is a gifted evangelist who encourages us as much as we encourage him, if not more!

We have been able to support the church in their purchase and refurbishment of a centrally-located building, which is a well-positioned for serving and reaching out to their local community seven days a week.

Please pray for healing and ongoing good health for Sasha and Marija, that North Macedonian believers will express God’s love to everyone they encounter, regardless of their ethnic and religious background, and for Orthodox church leaders to work well with Trinitas Church, using their position within the community and government for God’s glory.

Philippines

We work with a Christian charity called Mercy in Action, which works with the poorest of the poor in the city of Cebu in the Philippines. The charity sponsors children through education and is also involved in many other local projects in partnership with churches and local government in the Philippines.

Current projects include a drop-in centre for kids living on the streets. Here they can get a hot meal, study English and Maths to help them back into school, and receive basic medical care. The centre also tries to reunite them with families where possible.

Long-term accommodation is provided for a number of children, with a focus on creating a loving family environment for them.

Romania

Church members Russell and Rozalia Bennett run summer camps to reach young people with the gospel in Romania. They also offer practical help throughout the year, including equipping youth to teach younger generations.

A number of teams have gone from New Life to support their work in the summer camps, and they welcome more volunteers.

Please pray for many young (and old) people to be saved through this work, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and be added to the local churches.

Spain

Paul Godfrey leads El Faro Church in Valencia, which is a part of the Catalyst family of churches. Currently, the church is predominately ex-pat, but they would like to disciple people of all ages and cultures to live radically for Jesus.

Please pray for those that were part of the church pre-Covid would reconnect and for church members to give faithfully into the work, so that there are resources to do all that God has for them in Valencia and surrounding villages.
