On Sunday 17th September we became a multisite church. This is an exciting new chapter in our history and the fulfilment of months of planning, underpinned by prayer and constantly seeking God for direction.
Over the past year or so we had experienced significant growth, with more than 100 children gathering regularly on Sunday mornings and our youth group more than doubling in size. The Ridgeway Centre, which has been our home for almost ten years, had gone from feeling overly spacious to somewhat cramped!
It took a while for us to find the right venue for another Sunday Service, but eventually we did a deal with World Vision that allows us to use their building on Sunday mornings. And so the dream of being one church meeting in two venues became a reality.
With a 10:00am start, the Wolverton Mill Site, meeting in The Ridgeway Cesntre, launched with approximately 350 adults, youth and children. We felt the presence and favour of God, with our ministry team leading someone through a prayer of commitment and a large number of our youth responding to an invitation to receive baptism in the Holy Spirit.
At 10:45am, the Fox Milne Site, meeting in World Vision House, gathered approximately 150 adults, youth and children. New site leader Tim Williams preached and again someone gave their life to Jesus. The presence and favour of God was tangible.
As one church we hold fast to our vision to be a community that loves God and loves people. We are living with huge anticipation of all that God is going to do in the city of Milton Keynes, and our heart is to be a blessing to the people who live and work here. Being a church that meets in two venues on a Sunday is part of this, offering people more opportunities to encounter the Father that loves them unconditionally.
Why not join us? A warm welcome awaits at both sites.
